Blowing in the Wind...

Our Touist Season has just begun in December.  This means I am very busy in order to keep up with the most awaited Cruise Liner Tourist.  These are just some of my most resent hand dyed and hand painted silk scarves.  Each time I go to the Artisans Plaza in Old San Juan,  I have to take a fresh supply of scarves to sell.  Some of these have all ready been sold.

I try to have hand dyed in Tie Dye technique in all the sizes so as to give the customers a choice also must have some in the Silk Painting and Batik techniques where butterflies and flowers are the most popular

Tropical Storm Rafael : Storm-Centered Satellite Image | Weather Underground

Here we are again with big bad Tropical Storm Rafael ... right there ... to the right of Puerto Rico.  Here on the Island just a few clusters of rain showers arriving from the North but nothing unusual.  I live in the Metro area and altought I will get the initial rain and gusty winds ... but so far so good.  Everything is peaceful just like any other Saturday afternoon.  I always say ... the calm before the Storm ... Everything is unpredictable at the moment and so on a high alert mode.
Not so for the rest of the Islands all the way down to South America, they have been under the rain and clouds most of the day.

Pink and Dynamic Red

Pink and Dynamic Red and Black Hand Dyed Silk Scarf

Love and beauty,  life and vitality are the meaning of these colors.  Black frames these warm tones and created impact.

Both Pink and Red are stimulating and warm. Pink provides the feeling of love and caring and Red passion. I added the black for the bold and mysterious aspect it brings to love and passion.

This hand dyed scarf is 100% Chiffon Silk.  It is sheer and has a wonderful drape with a year round appeal.
I enjoyed using these colors together as they created that dynamic and dramatic look. Great with your ... little black (or pink/red) dress ... and certainly if you just want a splash of color to brighten you face. Wear as a head wrap or around you waist.

Batik Roses on Blue

Loved creating this hand drawn batik silk scarf.

The whites are nice and bright.

Also like how the backgound colors are so clear.

The primary leaves in chartreuse created a wonderful contrast with the Roses.

The seconary leaves or filler leaves in turquoise also create an exciting backgound to the yellow green leaves.  I drew this design free hand making it a ... one of a kind.

Did not have a chance to put it in my Etsy Shop because as soon as I showed it to a friend ... she bought it right there and then.  Loved that the most.

Will be creating more of these hand drawn Batiks ... stay tunned.

Went to the beach this morning. Was surprised that there were just a few enjoying the sun and the water ... I think it was too early for some. I like it at that time before the sun does any harm ... Gorgeous day here in Puerto Rico.

Kelly Green Charteuse Hand Dyed Silk Scarf

In 1764 this gorgeous yellow-green was named because of its resemblance to the green color of one of the French liqueurs called green chartreuse and so the name.

I always like to use several shades of the same color and so I have added a beautiful bright kelly green on the border and deep blue green that highlight the two colors.

Wear with blue for echoes of nature or with tan beige or brown for an organic feel. Try with black and white and yellow for a sporty touch.

A Scarf for SJP

As a Member of the Artisan Group I was lucky to be picked to Gift  ... Sarah Jessica Parker ... in late March of this year.

The moment I got the news I started to research her ... off camera ... persona so that I could get an idea of what she really likes to wear on her days ... off.

Aside from the fact that she is Fashion Icon and has had her own Clothing Line ... I could not let that ... frazzle ... me ...

Thinking of her golden hair and her funky casual look ...

I decided to go ... Neutral ... and so was born my ...
Sarah Jessica Parker Scarf

It is in Habotai Silk and I dyed and painted it with soft tones of neutral beige and bronze with gold embellished leaves.  The fringe in the scarf add to the wonderful Bohemian Look.
